Refund Policy

Last updated 21 May 2026

The short version

Full refund within 14 days. No questions asked.

If The Reluctant Narcissist course isn’t right for you, email us within 14 days of your purchase and we’ll refund you in full. Your access will be revoked when the refund is processed. That’s the whole policy.

The Mirror Course is a paid gift at R1,999. If the recipient has not yet opened the gift, we’ll refund you in full within 14 days and revoke the recipient’s token. Once the recipient has opened the gift, the gift is theirs to keep and refunds are not possible.

The detail

1. Refund window

You have 14 calendar days from the date of purchase to request a full refund on The Reluctant Narcissist course.

Statutory cooling-off (ECTA). If the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, 2002 applies to your purchase as an electronic transaction, you may cancel within seven (7) days after the date of receipt of the goods or services by sending written notice to hello@devonbrough.com.

This 14-day window applies regardless of how much of the course you have watched. Even if you have completed all eleven modules within those 14 days, you are entitled to a full refund. We trust people to use this policy responsibly. We do not police it.

2. How to request a refund

Email hello@devonbrough.com with:

  • The email address used at purchase
  • The order number (in your purchase confirmation email)

You do not need to give a reason. We will not ask for one. We will not try to talk you out of it.

3. Processing

Refunds are processed through the original payment gateway — PayFast or Paystack, whichever was used at checkout. We will initiate the refund within 5 business days of receiving your request. The refund will appear on your card or in your account within an additional 3–10 business days, depending on your bank.

4. What happens to your access

When the refund is processed, your LearnDash account access is automatically revoked. You will lose access to the video lessons, workbook downloads, and somatic recordings.

If you have downloaded the workbook before requesting a refund, we ask that you delete your copy. We do not enforce this technically, but it is part of acting in good faith with the refund policy.

5. After 14 days

After the 14-day window, refunds are at our discretion. We generally do not grant refunds outside the window, except in cases of:

  • Technical failure that prevented you from accessing the product
  • Significant misrepresentation of what the product contained
  • Other exceptional circumstances

If you believe you have a case for a discretionary refund, email us with the details. We will respond within 10 business days.

Your statutory rights (South Africa). Nothing in this policy limits rights you may have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2008 (CPA) or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, 2002 (ECTA).

6. The Mirror Course

The Mirror Course is sold as a paid gift at R1,999. The sender pays; the recipient receives the gift at no cost and with no account, login, or follow-up.

If the recipient has NOT yet opened the gift:

Email hello@devonbrough.com within 14 calendar days of purchase and we will refund you in full and revoke the recipient’s token. The recipient will not be able to access the course after the token is revoked.

If the recipient HAS opened the gift:

The gift is theirs to keep and refunds are no longer possible. This is by design — the Mirror Course is structured as a one-shot delivery, and once the recipient has engaged with the material we cannot meaningfully “take it back.”

We do not track or display to the sender whether the recipient has opened the gift (this is part of the brand-safety design of the product). If you request a refund, we will check our records on your behalf and let you know within 5 business days whether the gift has been opened.

If you sent the Mirror Course as a gift and would like to withdraw it before the recipient opens it for any reason — including changing your mind — contact us at the email above. We will not ask why.

What this policy is and isn’t

This policy is intentionally generous. We believe that someone who reaches the point of asking for a refund has already made up their mind, and that creating friction at that moment is bad for them and bad for us. We would rather lose the sale and protect the relationship.

If you have any questions about this policy before purchasing, please email us and we will explain anything that isn’t clear.
